Hey ๐Ÿ‘‹
v0.1.21 is here with some of the most requested features.

This release is packed with UX improvements that make editing faster and more precise. From snap guides to keyboard shortcuts to early animation supportโ€”we're doubling down on making video editing feel natural and efficient.

Let's dive in.

๐ŸŽฏ Snap to Perfection - Visual Snap Guides

Elements now snap to common positions while you're dragging them around the canvas.

No more eyeballing alignment. No more pixel-perfect frustration.

As you drag, visual guides appear showing you when elements align with:

  • Canvas edges
  • Center points (horizontal and vertical)
  • Other elements on the timeline

The result? Faster placement. More precise layouts. Exactly what you need when you're in the flow.

โŒจ๏ธ Keyboard Shortcuts - Speed Up Your Workflow

Power users, this one's for you.

We've added keyboard shortcuts to access panels instantly:

  • Alt + 1 โ€” Open Files panel
  • Alt + 2 โ€” Open Text panel
  • Alt + 3 โ€” Open Element Configuration panel
  • Cmd/Ctrl + E โ€” Open Export panel

No more clicking through menus. Just press and go.

These shortcuts are designed to keep you focused on creating, not navigating.

๐Ÿ“ Quick Position Alignment - One-Click Perfection

New alignment controls in the Element panel let you position elements with a single click:

  • Top left, top center, top right
  • Center left, center, center right
  • Bottom left, bottom center, bottom right

Nine preset positions. One click each.

Perfect for:

  • Lower third text placement
  • Watermark positioning
  • Creating consistent layouts across multiple videos
  • Quick scene composition

๐ŸŽจ Fill Canvas Control - Smart Scaling Made Easy

Added a new Fill Canvas button in the Scale section of the Element panel.

Here's how it works:

  1. Click once โ†’ Fill the canvas (element covers the canvas, may crop)
  2. Click twice โ†’ Fully fit (element fits within canvas, no cropping)
  3. Click three times โ†’ Restore previous scale

It's smart scaling without the guesswork.

๐ŸŽฌ Animation Support (Early Beta)

We're introducing basic animation support in this release.

This is an early beta featureโ€”expect rough edges, but also expect big improvements in upcoming releases.

Why release it early? Because we want your feedback. Tell us what animations you need. Tell us what feels clunky. We'll iterate fast.

๐Ÿ› Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Fixed: Video speed settings now properly affect actual playback rate
  • Fixed: Local media files are now cached, significantly improving preview playback performance
  • Improvement: Added compatibility warning dialog when your browser doesn't fully support required video features

What's Next?

We're continuing to refine the animation system, improve performance, and build out more keyboard shortcuts and workflow optimizations.
